Job Description:

Position requires the maintenance and management of our building and facilities including equipment, machinery and building systems. This includes acting as our liaison with vendors and contractors who service our building’s operating systems. The secondary, but equally important, responsibility is the receipt, distribution and shipment of chemicals and materials either to or from vendors or customers.

Hours:

– Full-Time, salaried, (40 – 45 hours/week), Monday – Friday

Requirements:

  1. No degree required
  2. Responsible for the receipt of and delivery to appropriate parties and maintain recordkeeping logs.
  3. Responsible for the shipment of all chemicals to customers per specific instructions and regulatory guidelines (IATA & IDOT trainings provided) including keeping up to date on vendor’s software and tracking systems.
  4. Follow all regulatory requirements for the shipment of hazardous materials.
  5. Order and maintain inventory of appropriate shipping supplies.
  6. Must be able to handle 55-gallon drums and powdered bags up to 60lbs on a daily basis.
  7. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
  8. Demonstrate organizational skills.
  9. Ability to multi-task and problem solve while still meeting required deadlines and working independently.
  10. Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
  11. Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  12. Ability to move materials to and from production areas.
  13. Check for worn parts, replace filters and run periodic tests on equipment and systems per SOPs.
  14. Develop, recommend, maintain and enforce SOPs for building and facilities with EHS committee.
  15. Work independently with minimal supervision as well as function as a member of the team.
  16. Interact with internal staff and external vendors, suppliers and customers.
  17. Take ownership of the shipping area keeping it neat and organized.
  18. Responsible for facility cleaning, including regular restroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, floor cleaning, and trash removal.
  19. Responsible for the regular purchasing of office supplies and other company essentials.

 

Desired Skills:

– Ability to read and understand SDS on intermediates and solvents used

– Good mechanical aptitude

– Knowledge of machinery and use of work shop tools

– Hazwopper and RCRA training possible

– Basic knowledge of facilities alarm system

– Basic knowledge of chemicals

– Forklift operation

– Knowledge of regulations regarding the shipping of hazardous and flammable materials
