My name is William Boulanger. I am late in my career as a research chemist, and I own a small company in Champaign, Illinois called Obiter Research (NOT Orbiter). My days are numbered, but I have a mission to accomplish before I die. There is a drug discovered in the 1990’s called 18MC; it can relieve any addiction with a single dose. You have never heard of it before because the has been no practical way of making enough of it for testing, much less to provide to the huge numbers suffering from addiction. My little company has solved that problem, and we have just recently been awarded the patents for the process to make significant quantities of this drug. Over time, I have approached drug companies with this opportunity, but they were not interested in a product that need only be used once. I have approached investors and philanthropic organizations, but this treatment does not fit into their agendas. I fear that this opportunity to alleviate so much suffering will be lost. It is not my purpose to cash in on this intellectual property to enrich myself, but rather to make it a gift to society. I envision creating a non-profit organization to complete 18MC’s clinical trials. If this hurdle can be passed, I hope to set up clinics where 18MC would be provided at near cost to those who need it, provided in the controlled environment of a clinic to remove the patients from the very environment that made them addicts in the first place. I admit that this is naive of me to hope for such a dream, as it requires mustering philanthropic funds which hitherto I have not been able to tap. What is more, it requires me to find people who can carry the mission on after me. The way to stop drug trafficking is to reduce demand, however, and this is a just cause. So this is an open solicitation for help. I am willing to do my part, but is there anyone else out there with resources who will help me? I can be found on LinkedIn, or by searching online for my company. www.obires.com

Obiter Research Important Process Patents
Obiter Research, in Champaign, Illinois, has just been issued two important process patents. One is to prepare the effective addiction drug 18-Methoxycoronaridine (18MC) at practical scale. With an acute dose, 18MC alleviates craving in addicted individuals, and is effective against methamphetamine, opiates, nicotine, and alcohol, and other substances. Until recently, 18MC was poorly available for either testing or use due to a lack of a practical way to make much of it. Obiter’s process opens the doors to general availability.
The second recently issued patent is for a practical and scalable process to manufacture the psychedelic muscimol, originally found in the mushroom Amanita muscaria. Current supplies originating from the mushroom are highly variable in purity and concentration, and none of the previous syntheses are practical to scale up. Obiter’s process bypasses the limitations of earlier preparations, and is capable of providing unlimited scale-up, and under GMP conditions. Muscimol and psilocybin have similar effects, but the former is not scheduled in the United States. It is expected to be useful to treat PTSD.
